We've had a busy start to the year with new people joining us, our AGM, Saturday morning simulator practices and the usual Sunday ringing and practice nights.
At the beginning of January, Natasha who has recently moved to Herefordshire joined our band having learnt to ring while at uni. We have also had a couple of the All Saints' ringers join us for practices and Sunday service ringing which has been very much appreciated. Also a new learner Chris, she joins Dave our other learner who started last year.
We have be holding Saturday practices on the simulator to help those who want to improve their technique alongside our learners who have been practice their bell control and listen skills. It is a great way speed up the leaning process making joining in with others on our Tuesday practice night go a lot more smoothly.
Here is Dave on one of our Saturday mornings. He is ringing along with the simulator, listening to his bell and trying to fit it in the right place with the others. We think he is done quite well!
On Sunday 6th February some of our ringers decided to ring a quarter peal before the Evensong service. The quarter was to mark the 70th anniversary of HM Queen Elizabeth II's accession.
February was also AGM month and as a change to the usual meeting place this year we chose the ringing room. A short meeting with drinks and nibbles where we elected five new members to our band and Kris took on the position of Assistant Ringing Master. Kris has been ringing for about 20 years and been a member of the cathedral band for almost as long. As well as helping to run the ringing, he is also one of our ringing instructors so will be helping to teach our new recruits.

After the meeting we were able to get straight into our ringing.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
